Meet Chantel

As a mother of four, Chantel knows first-hand the journey of birthing in the hospital and at home.

Her practice is centered on curating an experience for each family based on education, advocacy, and trauma-informed care.

Chantel is a certified DONA Birth Doula, Lactation Education Specialist, and Gottman Bringing Home Baby educator. A contracted Medi-cal provider, she has also completed training with Birthing From Within and Postpartum Support International (PSI).

As a DONA Impact Mentor, Chantel is passionate about partnering with local programs and organizations like the Sankofa BirthWorkers Collective, Riverside Community Health Foundation - IEHP Doula Access Program, and Frontline Doulas to provide affordable doula services in her community. She currently facilitates workshops for local doula trainings and operations for the Sankofa Community Community Doula Program—a Perinatal Equity Initiative for San Bernardino & Riverside counties.

Originally from New York, Chantel resides in Southern California with her family. She serves on the board of the Urban Youth Workers Institute and often speaks at conferences, colleges, workshops, and ministries. She’s also the founder of The Chaun Collective, whose mission is to create space for women and their families to birth safely and live courageously. Whether preparing families to welcome a new baby, consulting, mothering, or speaking, her anthem has always been,

“Be the change”.

In her free time, you can find Chantel buying plants, cycling, coffee crawling with her husband, and exploring the world with their growing littles.
